Each State agency with annual expenditures over $100,000 employs a small business/DVBE advocate to help resolve contracting issues with the state. The small business/DVBE advocate's duties include the following services:
Make information regarding pending solicitations available to, and consider offers from, California small business suppliers capable of meeting the state's business need, and who have registered with the state for this purpose.
Ensure that payments due on a contract with a small business are made promptly.

The AQMD Small Business Assistance Office helps small business owners to comply with AQMD rules and regulations through a variety of services offered. We help small business operators find out which rules apply to their operations, how to meet AQMD requirements, how to keep records, and how to obtain financing for air pollution control equipment. We act as advocates for the small business owners/operators within AQMD.
